And they have picked up for next to nothing from Melbourne a lad from the Kimberley(?) Toby Bedford. He and Daniels are having good form at the right time. I despise Collingwood so will be barracking for GWS which means they are buggered.

So nobody can really give me a reason why after 29 completed seasons - we cant find a way to win 2 finals after finishing 5th to 8th.
But the answer upon review lies in opportunity..In 29 completed seasons - we have only finished Top 4 on 4 occasions, 5-8 the other 4. Made the finals only 8 times in total..

So why? We still cant win away from home.
We never win a game when behind at half time or 3 qtr time. Last years final vs Bullies was the exception.
Why are we so soft?
It cant be from our initial set up..That is two generations ago.
Giants have played in 15 finals and won 9 of them. 3 from 3 agst their arch rival Sydney.
They play in front of 9000 ppl and historically struggle to keep young players..
This year they have won at 11 venues...

Things need to change....any ideas?

We win plenty away from home. Feel like we lose more here than in Victoria.

We have a retention problem and we don't trade well. Might be the best performed team for drafting and a good development club.

Next year, the re-stump enters year 8. Had we have hung on to 75% of what we lost in the past 8 years we'd be watching our team this weekend.

Logue, Langdon, Acres, Cerra, Hogan, Lobb, Henry, Hill, Neale, Waller.....some handy players there. All done four pre-seasons at least.

Thats the thing matebe - thats not our strategy.
Every list manager is trying to come out of trade week better off - theres no issue with that.
Since we (Belly) was seen to be highly insulting to Melb and Jesse by pulling out of negotiations with them only to re-enter later, we somehow offended the whole ES media not to mention the WA media who have never been on our side.
Nobody with a national voice pushes our barrow and now we have a stigma of being a hard club to deal with.
Its so wrong.
Cerra, Neale, Hill, Logue. Tucker etc were all fairly negotiated.
We prob got unders for Blacres, Hogan, Langdon & Lobb..all fairly negotiated however.
We prob paid overs for Luke Jackson but only given where this years pick has landed (5).
We def paid overs for Hogan.
Who have we shafted?

Hypen - we have won 57% of home games.
We have won 32% away in our history with some appalling records - thats a staggering difference and would be worse if WCE games werent counted - down to 30%.

Away vs Ess - 3/16 - they havent won a final for nearing 2 decades
Hawks - 4/16 - our nemesis
Saints 5/15 - How is that possible?
North - 4/10 - basket case - why have we played them only 14 times away in 29 years?
Carlton - 7/7 - former basket case - again why only 14 games agst the bottom teams?
