I still do not know why he went to the Eagles, he's no tlooked happy there and would definitely have fitted in better in Purple. But where would he fit in our side?

Having the talent as a kid is only part of the battle. Being drafted to a strong environment that allows a player to grow and develop properly is also a huge part of it and Carlton were far from that, let alone the OOFTIT's afterwards. SPS talent has been squandered and he has not developed well at all, in fact regressing as a player since his first season or two.

It's like when RL took over the side and Luke McPharlin stopped flying for marks and players were hesitant to go forward and attack with the football, even Stephen Hill was stopping and looking backwards first instead of playing on his natural attacking instinct. Your playing and training environment is a massive part of how you develop as a player.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

I totally agree. Carltoon stuffed SP-S by playing him everywhere and relying on him to do everything all game. They have form - remember Chris Yarran and how/where they played him. That's just two special WA talents.

I personally think SP-S can be saved if his body hasn't been beaten up too bad. He's only 25 which means a year or two of retraining should give him a few years to shine (as he was always destined to).

Retraining? Polly is that another term for sanitizing and scrubbing him clean? Sheesh, it will take a while to get the smell off him I recon. Bit like after a few days of mulesing sheep work and you have a shower and go off to the big city pub and wonder why all the peoples are looking at you all funny and keeping their distance.

‘It's like when XX took over the side and……..players were hesitant to go forward and attack with the football, even ………..was stopping and looking backwards first instead of playing on his natural attacking instinct. Your playing and training environment is a massive part of how you develop as a player.’ I thought you were talking about our current approach.

Didn't Stephen Hill play his best football under Lyon? He was second in the league for inside 50s in 2014, he was third in the league for 'meters gained' in 2015, which would suggest very few players in the league were looking forward more than him in Lyon's era.

RoLy was fortunate to have such a highly skilled player in his prime on his list at the time. Pity that insistance on developing Stephen's non-preferred gave the kid terminal soft tissue injuries that prematurely ended his time in footy.

Nup, RoLy was a bloody nightmare.
