Purple Shades - We might not ask for a pick 3, but surely fair play is a first round. I recon if we got a 3rd round pick that is a mouth full of warm gravel. He wants out, people don't want to pay. While we used a bunch of picks in the 40’s and 50’s to match the bid, we traded out a future 2nd round pick on the night to obtain those picks.
That should be the minimum we request if he nominates North or Hawks, (basically the same value as Logue)
We can then either keep that pick or ontrade it to get back into this years draft.
The problem with this year is there are 5 academy and FS selections and a McKay compo pick in the first round. So even 17 from the dogs will end up being 23 on the night. Our current pick 21 will likely be 27 on the night.

Regarding Henry being drafted with a bunch of accumulated points, that is missing the point.

Carlton were absolutely going to spend their pick 9 on him so that was his worth.

He has now been developed, had a breakout year and will go on to be the next Bradely Hill. We got Acres and pick 10 for Hill.

Carlton only bid at 9 because they were 100% sure we would match it, it’s why they then bid on Green at GWS with their next selection at 10, it was all buying time to trade down the order after missing out of Young and Serong, both of whom they were very keen on.
In hindsight we absolutely should have let Carlton have him at pick nine. Which would have made SOS lose his brain.
