No, we didn't have pick 9. We used a bunch of later useless picks as well as going into deficit and pushing our 1st pick the next year back a couple of spots to match the bid. Henry was basically a free hit at pick 9 and was a no brainer to match. We would not have had any chance at Tom Green or any other players until much later in the draft.
However we were still bent over on Henry's trade out and they should have done far better on the deal. Sure, he was out of contract and could have gone to the pre-season draft if there was no deal done but that's no guarantee Henry gets to the Saints, especially when we pick before them.
