Thanks Biz - I'd kind of figured that, on the basis that everyone would have done it before if you could, but didn't actually know what the rules were.
I'm actually thinking we will use it - we've left a space on the list and we've given up our early picks in trades for the 23 draft. We'll be using speculative late picks. The MSD allows us to look at last year's speculative late pick candidates who now have half a season of senior footy under their belts, so are slightly less speculative. I think there's room on the list for a young KP defenceman, as we're a bit short on depth there. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking Pearce, Cox, Ryan, Hamling, Chapman. Hamlings probably gone, Pearce has had his injury issues and, I'd imagine, would be a prime target to captain the new Tassie team. Ryan's 27. There's definitely a need for a succession plan there.
