Drowning in anything isn’t good. I can forgive but if you cheat while playing sport for your country your cactus as far as I’m concerned.

I won’t support the Australian team while Warner and Smith play. Let them play for their State but not Australia.

OTT imo. The South Africans were ball tampering before and in that series, as were other countries. The only difference was Australians got caught. Plus the fact that it is highly likely Cricket Australia approved of their actions makes Warner and Smith scapegoats who have well and truly paid the price, and more.

CA, something being highly likely isn’t a fact.

If I commit a criminal act or act inappropriately against known accepted behaviour at the request of my Manager, I’ve committed an offence or breach of discipline. You can’t pass on the accountability.

Sack Cricket Australia too then.

The technicalities of making an argument ate pointless if people don't want to watch the game being played.

Warner and Smith's unwavering selection is basically a bunch of conservative Boomers at Cricket Australia loudly arguing about 'cancel culture' instead of getting on with their job.

Just on Perth's future with the game, I truly believe we have the best football stadium in the country.

But it's a sterile venue for Test Cricket played at day time.

What is the intent regarding the WACA?

Fred, lives just down the road, is a smart fella. He's been getting away with robbing banks for years, never been caught, hasn't done a days work for the last 15 years. I'm not that smart, and my dad told me I should try robbing banks, instead of getting a real job. I got caught. Why am I in jail, while Fred is sitting back in his mansion trying to decide between the floating palace and the JFS?

Is it the stadium or is it sterile Test Cricket. I don't know what seats you were in but the WACA was a rubbish tip with an occasionally good pitch.

It's a shame we're basically clueless when we go about the business of choosing our idols and idylls early on in life. As time does it's funky thing on the lawn of your dreams the tarnish flakes off those idols and you're left holding soggy memories in the face of terminal lawn rot, Either that, or we grow more aware and sophisticated with grace and style and find ourselves performing the rituals of enjoyment out of habit until we realise with a rude shock that we don't really enjoy them anymore.

It's not always the way of it, of course... corporatised capitalism has pretty much f**ked the enjoyment out of anything you care about in the name of shareholders' benefits but there are small joys still to be had if you set your sights low and fly under the radar. I learnt that in conversation with the pig. Quite grounding, chats with the pig. Earthy, hints of peach nectar and fresh cut grass.

Cricket is Australia's temple of dreams, isn't it? It's pumped and humped shamelessly in the Sacred Name of Summer and then chucked behind the sofa for 9 months. Shane's right... it's Boomer Central. Dud McDudley and the Dudsters beamed into your lives in the name of entertainment.

I think people running a lot of sport, cricket in particular, aren't the people who consume the sport in a regular fashion. So, like you, they don't understand the nuances of the game.

What we get is people who go "You know what everyone loves - when a batsman makes 100 runs" or "More goals - people like that". And they're all nepo babies so they don't understand that, if I may quote Little Simz, the top of the mountain is nothing without the climb.

We want to see the contest. We don't want flat wickets or a lot of free kicks, or rule changes that make it easier to do the thing they think we want to see. International cricket at the moment is just dancing. There is very little sport about it.

YouBeaut Smiley's pig stuff - helluva pet; everything Shane said.

Having sports tv commentary done by Gogglebox out of some room in Melbourne full of mates in tight fitting casual wear doesn't help much too.

Noddy. Not just the aussies mate, fixing pitches and ball tampering in every country has been around since Noah was a boy (well maybe not quite that long but near enough). We mightn’t like it but if even the top players brag about it in their books you can’t tell me it isn’t more widespread that we know.

examples: Philander, Faff (zipper - rewarded with captaincy). Atherton, Trescothick, Panasar. Dravid, Tendulkar (overturned by Cricket India and ref kicked out). Pooran (WI). Afridi, Youniis, Akhter. Imran Khan (bottle top). Crowe, Pringle. The list goes on.

At least our idiots did their time.

I didn’t say it isn’t around. Anyone caught doing it representing their country should be banned.

I’ve been selected to play for Australia..,..I know, I’ll do a bit of cheating.

Do you you think that anyone like that deserve to ever play for Australia again?

Clearly CA think most people think it’s ok. It’s not and never will be.

Steve Waugh seemed to know how playing should be done, a bit of humility.

"CA, something being highly likely isn’t a fact." Cricket Australia have definitely not refuted it, so if it wasn't true why would they at least not make a statement.

Sport is littered with cheating. You wouldn't be able to field a side if you took out all the cheats.

AFL is full of it. eg. Supposedly injured players being taken off this year and fit to play next week, has caused the rules to be changed. Nothing happened to the coaches who did it though.

If you think players are just going to go onto a field/ground and play without getting an advantage over opposition by any means possible, legal or not, you're dreaming.

So being humble makes you a fair person?
