I'm tending to agree with WTB in his anticipation of a response from the accused. All the reported speech from the (so far) three players and their families has the appearance of being massaged, if not ghost-written, for maximum effect.
And the effect is horrendous. If all or indeed any of the underlying facts as reported are found to be true, then those three accused men should be immediately dismissed from their positions within the AFL.
Clearly we haven't heard the full story yet, and I believe the report has existed for much longer than a week, so by now we should be expecting a very detailed response from all three accused. It won't be enough for the reported details to be "strenuously denied". All the alleged details will need to be addressed.
I agree with the posters who want a similar review carried out by Freo...to me it's imperative and urgent, and may well even be underway. Additionally, I'd be very interested in reading comments about this matter from people like Franklin, Shaun Burgoyne and Cyril Rioli, as well as Michaels Johnson and Walters.
And the denials by Hodge about knowing anything of what's been alleged smack of something lacking in a leader...I wonder what Sam Mitchell has to say about it too.
