TOPIC: Bidding war

We might end up with a decent pick(s) for Meek if this keeps up.

He's going to get even better. He's a giant. You'll get a pick earlier than what we used on Sean Darcy.

Lobb will go, you seriously have to wonder what type of player you get if you make him stay. Meek will go. We need two talls.

I didn't mind number 16 for Claremont. Took it up to Meek and is a young fella himself.

We are going to go into this draft with a really strong hand. I think we'll now have a first, second and two third round picks and an additional fourth round pick.

I’m kind of tired of all these strong hands, can we just stop being inadequate and win a premiership, please?

I can see it now. We lose Meek, don't get Jackson and Lobb does a McCartney sook year and leaves anyway...

This is the young bloke you were talking about Hypen. He played for W.A. in U/18 championship in 2019 with some others that have gone on to AFL.(well made the squad at least). I was told that the thing that stopped him from stepping up to the next level was his unwillingness to train too hard or apply himself. Whether that's changed now I don't know. He's a good mark and kick for goal. Last year he was being used mainly at full forward, but as this year has progressed he's been used in the ruck a lot more.
Maybe Biz knows more of him?

Thanks Corporal, things I liked about him -

Meek is a giant. And Buller was clearly loving the fight.

Lead Hamling to the ball when forward. That's no easy feet.

Strong mark. He's an AFL player.

I know others rate Meek a lot higher than me, but aren’t there always ruckman like Tom Hickey around that you can just pick up for nothing? Or a guy like Sam Draper playing in a state league? To the extent there’s a difference between what Hickey, Meek or some WAFL plonker offer, is it really worth giving up a high pick over?

People are talking about Meek as if he’s Jonathan Griffin, who was a very good ruckman, who when he played often actually contributed to winning, but couldn’t make it work with Sandi in the team. Meek’s best attribute is that when he plays he doesn’t embarrass himself.

I hope I’m wrong, but if Freo are offered anything more than a late second round pick for Meek they should do their best to keep a straight face and offer to do the paperwork.

Funny the comparison with Griffen. I was comparing his situation to Griffen over the weekend and came to the same conclusion. He's not in his class.

But he's way better than, "doesn't embarrass himself".

They say the grass is always greener. Maybe we can package Meek up with some Mandurah turf and send them off to GWS or wherever he lands...

Lloyd at this stage has not requested a trade anywhere, he is still under contract for next year and is at this stage merely exploring his options. With Rory Lobb still looking like leaving and Taberner's continual lack of fitness we are still possibly short of options next year so he could still have a future with us and play on next year.

Meek will embarrass a lot more people than embarrass him He might even embarrass Barrass, before he's finished.

West Coast Nisbett says his club is interested in Fremantle ruckman Lloyd Meek,
The Eagles supremo ( what the !! ) gave an indication how highly West Coast rates Meek when he said the club had no interest in trading in “B graders”.
Nisbett you have only B Graders in your backyard to trade and you only can afford B graders from another clubs.
And 2023 will be a C- for you and your club.
