I have done a quick statistical analysis of the Brownlow votes and it appears that West Coast have the most even spread of talent of all of the current AFL squads. Mean, standard deviation, regression, hypothesis testing, and sample size determination were all words that I considered in my analysis but no matter how I look at the data, the difference between the best and the worst in the Eagles squad is less than in any other team. I am so pleased I could find something positive to say about them this year.

Ah Chee was concussed from the incident in round 21 and missed multiple weeks as a result of it. Yet Cripps was free to play the very next round and subsequently went on to win the brownlow.
Cripps didn't receive any Brownlow points in round 22 but received 3 points in round 23.
Those 3 points put Cripps ahead of Lachie Neale by 1 point to win him the Brownlow.
He shouldn't have been playing in round 23 if the MRO and tribunal had anything to do with it. But Carlton were able to cheat with bl@@dy lawyers... Yet Ah Chee was still concussed from the incident.

We know, its a disgrace, but its a stupid award anyway, so who cares?

The votes difference between Brayshaw and Serong is evidence enough of how ridiculous it is.

(I also don't think Brayshaw is the 3rd best player in the comp, even if he got voted MVP by his peers, but there you go).

The Brownnose is simply dodgey and as corrupt as the maggots that decide it - unless one of ours wins it. Then it's spot-on, totally memorable. In fact, I can only recall two proper counts - let me check....yeah, Nat Fyfe got both of them.

“(The entire West Coast team) polled just 15 votes to sit equal-12th in the count with Karl Amon, recording the lowest total vote count for a team in the AFL era.
.....Kennedy would be on top of the list, and given he has now retired, it's a damning assessment of the year the Eagles had.”
