Walker had multiple poor games throughout the year. His two worst were in the finals. He should’ve been dropped for the Pies game, and replaced by Wilson, after the previous week. 9 touches, 0 marks, 0 tackles.
Having said that I’m excited by him, and love the way he can burst away. He needs to find a way to get involved for longer periods and be composed.
Logue could’ve played in place of him. He is in the top top 2-3 for speed in the team, he’s strong, athletic and physical. I think he rated 2nd best in the AFL for percentage of one on one contests won.
Clarkson knows why he wants him.

I think you're forgetting how average Logue's decision making and disposal was at half back DBTS, which is why he was the 7th best defender. He would have made many of the mistakes Walker did if he was playing that role. He was never the quickest thinker with ball in hand and is far more experienced.

Walker suffered from inexperience in a frenetic final. He will be an absolute JET.

I suspect the crowd noise meant Walker could not hear his teammates warning him of the presence of a potential tackler. The experience of playing in front of 90,000 people will have provided him invaluable experience.

Walker did make some mistakes in that final, but he did get more of the footy than most of his more experienced team mates.

It couldn’t have been much worse. In this instance Wilson was the logical inclusion, given Logue was already in the team as a forward. I stand by that you could easily play a backline that included Logue and no Walker.
This is what we will miss with the loss of Logue. Dependent on match ups he plays both ends. His inclusion allows so much flexibility with the sub. We knew if we lost a defender or forward Logue would fill the role.
