Logue is a real fabric guy within the club on top of his abilities, cannot believe we would risk unravelling our character unless it was on his terms.

Get a grip - honestly, who in their right mind would actually choose to go to North Melbourne?

I actually like him for Lobbs current role. Taberner, Amiss and Fyfe down there is awesome. I'd give Logue more money and pass on Jackson.

With Taberner, cut his running back to 10kms a game. His legs can't deal with it.

Lobb, Logue and Acres is a pretty high price to pay for Jackson. I can’t see why Logue couldn’t do Acres role.
I don’t know about others but I’ve been a fan before his move forward.
This weekend for example I see him being valuable against Howe’s aerial threat, and against a smaller forward line perhaps taking Elliott if he starts to get away.

Never met Logue. Not once.

But nor have I ever watched a game and thought gee wish he ran harder, hit that contest harder, or was more team orientated.

Not sure what motivates him and money not the only thing but if someone offered you 50% pay rise, and a twice as long contract you’d have to give it some serious thought wouldn’t you,

The GOOD news.

Club has been pretty exceptional at draft table turning players wanting to leave in to good picks.

Hill + picks = Serong, Acres,
Cerra = Amiss
Weller = Brayshaw.

So if he and others go I have faith we’ll turn it in to something good.

And if really want to cheer yourself up go look at age of our list, who played in final, who played games in 2022, and WAFL form of our teenagers. Sure no guarantees and need some luck but no duds on that list. And some fringe players will have trade currency.

According to reports, those 3 players are a chance to leave. Lobb has wanted out. Both Acres and Logue have better offers, at other clubs apparently. I assume we need the trade currency and salary cap to secure Jackson. Personally I think losing these 3, and probably our first pick this year is too much.

Perhaps we think we have put forward reasonable offers but they would prefer to chase the money instead of being part of a successful team. If Logue goes to NM as reported that could be the only reason.

Plus, if Lobb leaves that would free up a big chunk of our salary cap.

CA you are spot on. I'm really puzzled why all these guys want to go elsewhere when there is every indication that the Dockers are on the road their first premiership. Why wouldn't they want to be part of that? Part of club history.

How much would you recommend paying fringe players in the side who can be replaced by the large number of quality youth pushing for a starting gig at Peel?

We've offered contracts and if other teams come hunting for our players by paying way over market price, we can't invent room in the salary cap and ruin our total player payments for years to come.

In any case, Acres and Logue are little chance to leave for the small pay increases they can get by heading interstate. The money made on a new contract would likely be wiped by relocating and living interstate, let alone wanting to leave a side competing as we're doing while surrounded by family and mates in their home town.

Please re-read this thread and my comments about Colin Young throughout. That should tell you all you need to know.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
