You come from a rowing background. Taken in the top ten of the draft for your athletic ability it takes you five years to discover your best position is anywhere the team needs you. Sure, you can’t take a mark, and have an average goal kicking record, but your real value is in your physical contest on opponents of varying dimension. Real heartbreak though, is attending the exit meeting, after playing finals for the first time, to discover you have been given a plastic bag to clean out your locker while the gut in front of you was given a cardboard box.
