The problem with Lobb going to Melbourne is that they'd need to meet Lobb's contract demands. They aren't likely to have the salary cap room unless they lose both Jackson and Brayshaw.

We need to go hard at the flag next year while Fyfe is still around and Hopefully Mundy for another year. We have had years at the draft now it’s time to trade our early picks for players that make our team instantly better. This and next years first rounders should be on the table. Players like Jackson, Shai Bolton, Liam Baker and Zurhaar should
be at the top of the list.

Lobb is 30 next season. It’s a no brainer. We would have the best ruck tandem in the league. Surely Melb has made room to pay Jackson so Lobb would slot in. Sell high.

Meek is ok but I feel he drops too many marks and gets killed in the ruck. He is good in open play but that is not what he is paid for.

I heard on Whateley's podcast that Melbourne will want 3 first round picks for Jackson... WTF!!!
If so, no one will go for that and Jackson will walk straight to the pre-season draft and most likely be picked up by WC for nothing!!!
However, they are apparently also after a key forward, so maybe that's where Lobb enters the conversation...

There will be a lot of bogus and over the top calls by people. The common sense play is about our first round pick this and next year. Any pick for Lobb probably replaces the use of our first round pick next year.

If Brayshaw leaves Melbourne for his childhood team Freo as a free agent which is highly likely from everything I've heard, Melbourne will get a pretty juicy priority pick too. They can only do so much with a big draft hand while they're in contention. They'd prefer players I'm sure so I'd be hoping they enter negotiations with Lobb as a replacement. Lobb and our first rounder is about right.
