LIke overpriced Kelly, Luke Jackson is part of great team. He has a couple of good games every now and then which is not we need.
If he presented himself more as Essendons King I might get excited.
Lobby should Go.... or our forward coach who insisted he mans up behind three defenders waving his arms at the ump for block.

Forget about his stats - just look at Jackson - he's a natural Docker (even has tatts.) He'd be no good for the Slime - you look into his eyes and you can see a human being in there.

I hope he’s as good as some on here are saying, and I hope Logue turns out as average as some on here have said.
I’m not convinced.
At a time when I believe, we should be creating a culture, similar to Geelong, and Richmond. We are offering huge money to an unproven talent. How do we encourage others to take a little less for the ultimate success?
Sure I watched his GF, his 3rd quarter was great. I’ve also watched at least another 10 games where I haven’t noticed him. That was despite me paying particular attention due to our interest.
We have probably the second best ruckman in the game at 24.
Now I hear we are going to use Jackson like Blicsav’s. Where is the evidence he can play this role?
Some on here have scoffed at the prospect of Logue playing through the centre. In my opinion Jackson becoming a midfielder is equally as unlikely. I can’t see any reason why Logue couldn’t be given a crack at Acres role.
I watched McCarthy before we recruited him, he also showed moments of brilliance. That turned out well.
Then again, I was dubious about recruiting Clark. He’s been way better than I thought. Although we missed Motlop because of that trade. Could Logue of played more down back, or Wilson have done similar in a much more competitive team.
I’m extremely worried we are going to hijack ourselves again. That we’ve over estimated Logue’s love of the team, and low balled him.
My feel atm is we should’ve kept backing this group in, and trusting the draft.

Docker by the Sea. Who out of the group have Freo not backed in ? If you look at the facts and figures players are leaving for their own personal reasons.

I reckon both Logue and Acres have been offered original contracts that had them want to explore their options. I think the push to get Jackson has led to this

Acres isn’t leaving for money. The amount is pretty much the same as Freo’s offer. It’s sound to me as the misses has got involved in that one as I’m pretty sure she is Victorian. Logue has had a massive offer put in front of him from North with likely a permanent position in their backline. He is leaving for money and opportunity. I can’t blame the club for not matching the reported offer. Lobb has wanted out since last year for his own personal reasons. A credit to him is that we knocked back his request last year and he performed at a high level. Tucker is looking for opportunity as well as he is in and out of the side. I mean I can’t see how the club has backed in our players.

Logue wants to be a defender… we have far better. Would like to keep him but do we really think logue, acres and tucker will be in our first flag 22… lobb could be thats why they will play hardball. The rest are replaceable easily

News has filtered thru that Port Adelaide may enter the equation to help us deliver a top 10 pick to Melbourne...

AFL trade news: Port Adelaide key to Luke Jackson trade

"Port Adelaide looms as the key to helping Fremantle unlock the first-round pick swap which can secure the trade for Luke Jackson.
Fremantle currently has pick 14 and is talking to clubs higher in the draft order in order to nab a pick inside the top 10 to pass on to the Demons for Jackson.
Melbourne wants two first-round picks for Jackson, including at least one selection inside in the top 10, from Fremantle.
The Power is open to shuffling back several spots in the first round of the draft, which could see the club swap its pick 8 for Fremantle’s pick 14..."

Jackson is not worth two first round picks. If he is, then young De Koenig for the Cats is worth three.

“Logue wants to be defender”. I had high expectations for young Chapman, but in a few games this year he didn’t seem to handle the pressure very well. I hope he gets better, because Logue for all the bagging he gets here is a real clubman, just watch Old Bull/ Young Buck and is the kind of person you need around a club and he has a fairly steady approach to the game and is only going to get better.
