TOPIC: Rory Lobb

2 for Lobb, seems fair given what Geelong want for Clark, and the value placed on Lobb by some here.

Lobb is closer to 30ish and basically got to play forward all season except for relieving ruck work. Does he seriously think that's going to change with Mumford retiring?

edit-one of these reports agrees.

Some of you have short memories. Only a couple of weeks ago not prepared to give a first round pick for Lachie Neale then think we should get one back for Lobb. Fact of the matter is GWS are unlikely to appease Fremantle just like we knew we couldn’t Brisbane without hurting our future. The only way I see it happening is if a player comes back our way.

Sam Taylor would be handy, but unrealistic.

I read Dockland a lot but hardly ever comment. I find your insights very interesting and often very funny. I have been reading the conversations on Rory Lobb and don't understand why any of you have not mentioned the change in forward coaches and the opportunity that represents to our forward play. I think there will be less big bombs into the forward line and more clever use from mids to small forwards.

Also, with so many of our backline injured players being fit for this year it could open up opportunities for say Griffin Logue or Cox. I noticed Logue was pushing the JL on that point on a podcast.

Definitely agree that Cox is an option up forward, but for that to happen we need Hamling fit and able to hold down a a key position in the backline. It was shown last year that Logue wasn't really up to taking the second best forward, with Pearce taking the best. He's solid and strong but actually the height of some midfielders.
If by some miracle we were at full strength I'm not too sure where Logue would fit in.

And yet Griff performed admirably on Buddy when asked to do the job against Sydney. Don't write of the Griff to perform in the forward line or on the ball if given the chance.

I don't know if Logue played on Buddy in Rd 10, but he kicked 6.1 in that game.

Yes he did and 3 of those goals very lucky with some umpire assistance. Most media scribes actually called it a draw with Griff having a fair bit of the ball in an intercept capacity and rebound from defense. 19 disposals and 7 marks

I remember Logue beating Buddy in a one-on-one, and Buddy giving him a nod of respect. He wasn't pantsed that day, despite the huge size and experience difference.

Riddle me this Batman. in the second game against Sydney, did Pearce play on Buddy and Logue on Heaney who kicked 5?

It's not often I agree with David King, but on this occasion, I do.

I think so Corp, a coaching blue by JLo not sticking with Griff. I/m not sure who Alex played on, I just remember Heaney standing on Luke Ryan's head though I don't think that was a matchup. He was just in the wrong place and wrong time .That's always the problem when you get your star players back, where to play them and do you just pop them in ahead of the less experienced player who has been doing a good job in the star player's absence.

Well Jooter, what Kingy is saying is exactly what I've been saying since I started this thread. It's nice to see some support from more qualified people in the media than those poking fun at me on this forum. Jordan Lewis was also quite scathing in his remarks on FoxFooty.
