The Cerra trade looks a tad light but when you look at it overall we have picked up Brodie, a former number 9 draft pick with great potential and about to pick up Clark who will be in our best 22 and will end up with picks 6,8,19 as well as some late picks to use on NGA's - another strikingly brilliant trading period by Belly and team. Cannot wait to see the talent we get with 6,8 and 19!

The Cerra outcome is poor (forget the future third rounder - barely qualifies as steak knives)
We got lucky picking up Cerra with a top 10 pick (there are no certainties). We spent 3 years investing in him and now we are back to having a top ten pick and who knows what that will bring. Carlton got a certainty that is ready to go, we got a possibility that will take years to develop.

The Suns deal was great. The Cerra deal was below expectations.

Sure losing Cerra is a big disappointment but we are now in a stunning position to pick up 3 top 20 future stars with at least one being a a WA key tall/forward. I think in the years ahead we will look back on this draft period as the final important step towards a Premiership. I'm very excited!

Could the AFL have had a hand in this, we will approve the GCS deal only if you do the right thing by Carlton? We know the AFL so want a strong Blues. Just a question, I'm not au fait with the inner workings of the AFL.

Some are a tad disappointed with what we got for Cerra but with Brodie, Clark (both former first round selections) and 6, 8 and 19 (call that 8, 10 and 21 after bidding) I think we have improved our position significantly during this trade/draft period. Perhaps more to come?

The Cerra deal needed to be pick 6 and a future 2nd pick at a minimum, 6 and a future 3rd is a fail.
If they were to finish last it's still only pick 40 (once free agency compos are factored in, it will likely be pick 50 which is next to useless).
