So at one stage we are all rejoicing in the fact that we have 3 picks in the top 20 to get the best possible talent including tall forward/ruck options from JVR, Jack Williams, Jye Amiss and Eric Benning. Now it appears more likely that people are pushing the names of Josh Rachele, Neil Erasmus and Johnson and trading our pick 19 further down the trade order. Whilst I do trust Belly, Walls and co I see this could leave us with an early small forward/midfielder and a tall option with our first picks and then the likelihood that we will miss out on the other local tall options as other clubs get in and grab these players due to their importance in building a strong list. Under this strategy we could even miss out on Benning if a bid came for him inside pick 30 because I don't think we have enough points in our remaining selections to match the bid. I do get the whole strategy surrounding Pick 19 however I hope we don't shoot ourselves in the foot by trying to be too smart and missing our objectives. At first I thought this was about getting the best tall forward/ruck talent. Come on Belly and Walls, please don't stuff this up.
