Seriously Tucker is the typical Freo B grade player. Full of potential and promise and yet to deliver. We have a truck load of Tuckers.... what we need is pace and execution from half back. Young is going to be an exciting player with skill... love to have Clark on the other half back.

I agree with that.. do you think chappy might move onto the wing? He does seem suited to a role like that….

I'm not sure about playing on the wing but I am very excited to see Chappy backy. Kid could be any no . Stop. Never mind. I didn't say anything and his ligaments will forever be fine.

If Tucker is clearly better than Clark as some here suggest, why are we going for Clark? I didnt have Darcy Tucker in my best 22 for 22 and now the result is out, neither did the majority. I dont see a position for Darcy which is a pity because he seems such a good character. Where are we going to play Clark? We have a hundred back flankers. Freddie looks like he will play wing. The other wing is the only other possibility because Tucker, Acres etc are too slow IMO. Dont give up a draft pick for Clark.

I really don't think Tucker is a half back. We supposedly played him there to get his fitness up after a long injury. Even so you think he is more of a midfielder, but we couldn't find a spot for him there while Fyfe was out. He's certainly no replacement for Cerra as a midfielder, so who's spot would he take?

Poor Tucker.

They build him up just to tear him down.

The other thing that needs to be considered is whether Tucker actually wants to come back to Freo. We don’t know. He’s a good player, who now has an injury history, and he didn’t re-sign during the year. Perhaps he wants a fresh start. He’s no guarantee to play in his preferred position for Freo.

He might make the decision easy for the club. North Melbourne could do a lot worse than to lock him up in the pre-season draft. If he’s got one foot out the door then a trade with Geelong becomes a no-brainer.

Tucker was in the best form of his career when he got injured ( as good as anyone in the team ) leading up to the hammy , If he could get back to that it would be great but will he get the chance ?

He's the last player we need to leave. Tucker is a bit like DeBoer, strong and runs at great pace all day. Better skills than DeBoer. He tore that hamstring off the bone. That must be months of not running.

I like your positivity Hypen, but I think Tucker being the last person we need to leave could be a bit of an exaggeration.

I pinged a calf muscle on Thursday - it will be yonks until I can walk let alone run. Tucker also has a wonderful left foot kick on him. He's a keeper for me - he'll be in his footy prime over the next four years, we dont need yet another skinny kid to develop and then give the heave-ho to.

This is the part about trade week that I hate the most. You get a guy like Darcy Tucker who buys into the future of the club, does all the right things to improve himself and commits fully both on and off the field only to end up as trade bait. Reminds me of when Leigh Brown committed to extending his contract prior to Pav only to then be offloaded in a trade. Tucker is a heart and soul Freo player and, despite the fact that Clark is a player we need, I will miss him greatly if he is down a t Geelong next year. Interesting that Geelong have been chasing Darcy for a while now but turns out they could get the Tucker variety rather than the Sean.
