Would of thought we keep the higher pick 6 and trade 8 if we where looking at something like that.

We need top 10 pick for JVR as his standings probably went up again today. Played CHB for most game then went forward and kicked winning goal for WA in GF curtain raiser. His versatility is sure to to make him more attractive to recruiters in the draft.

Jon Ralph's at it again....

"Geelong wants a draft pick somewhere in between Fremantle’s first and second-round selections to release contracted speedster Jordan Clark back home to Western Australia.
Currently, Fremantle has picks 8 and 27 but the Cats are unlikely to accept pick 27 in return for a player originally recruited with pick 15 in 2018."

AFL trades 2021: What Geelong want from Fremantle Dockers in potential Jordan Clark deal

This is getting interesting... A possible early 2nd rounder ... 21? Is that reasonable?

No deal then, unless we get 25 from Carlton as part of the Cerra deal, that’s between 8 & 27.

This is all crap.

He's a fringe player at geebung and the Vic journos are trying to drive his price up for Vic clubs as they always do.

Clark wants out because he can't get game time. He's not worth what the journos want but I doubt geebung will suddenly turn reasonable. They screwed the slime with Kelly, let's not them them screw us as well

Why would we want to trade for a fringe player?

The thing is Jordan Clark will not be a fringe player if we get him, similar to SPS who will not be a fringe player at the Eagles because they will play him in his correct position, not a defender. They are going to play hardball with Carlton and offer a third rounder which is probably fair because, despite being a top 10 pick, is not being played in the seniors by the Blues. Jordan Clark is the same, a pick 15 but not getting a game for last 2 seasons. You can't demand what Geelong are going to ask for a player who is not a regular. It's a wonder they're not asking for Darcy as a swap. As much as I would really like to see him in the Purple next year I'd be prepared to tell them to shove it if they want a first or high second round pick which we could use to get an Eric Benning or Jack Williams.

I just heard on the radio that we have tabled a 4 year deal to Jordan Clarke. That is a big deal for a fringe player. They must really think he can be quality. That's what you normally give stars of the competition.

it’s probably only 4 years when you take the performance trigger into account giving you that extra year or two. you can’t go past a trigger clause, they’re worked a treat so far!

I’m not sure the recruiting team and the coach will be to pleased with Fyfe’s comments the other day re Jordan Clark. Clark is contracted and Fremantle have to appease the Cats in any deal.

Look at it this way, it’s only one more year than we offered Acres to come across.

I really don’t like the sound of this, if we are offering 4 years to a contracted player we will need to cough up the cats asking price. Not sure why we are going so hard for him when we have Walker and Frederick who offer just as much pace.

Early second round at best for Clark. With the departure of Cerra we should be able to achieve this by insisting on Carlton's first two picks for Cerra. I think Geelong will accept an early second round in the end. They wont want another unhappy player in their ranks. I'd compare Clark with Ed Langdon who went to Melbourne for a second rounder as far as I can remember.

The kid can play and it wouldn’t be the first time that a player is undervalued at one club and becomes a star at another.
The coach and captain both rate him so don’t be surprised if we offer overs..... I’d have him in a heartbeat.
