Can't believe these "experts" have Van Rooyen so low in the draft. Hope it stays that way so we grab him. He turned that game around. The other player was Sheldrick, a goal kicking midfielder. What's the word on him Biz?

I hope JVR stays low on these experts draft lists because he's my favoured forward at the moment. He's achieved more than any tall available in this draft and he deserves to be a first round pick.

Sheldrick has played a lot of PCA football rather than colts but has been consistently good throughout. He's a nugget of a player with a well developed body but is on the smaller side height wise for a mid. He loves the in and under stuff, scrapping to win the footy and get it out to the runners.

He had a good game on the weekend in front of goals which is the first time I've seen him show a bit up forward in promising signs. He could go anywhere from about pick 30 onwards at this point but could just as easily miss out altogether. He's a smaller ball winner and probably not someone we need given we have Brayshaw and Serong but if he continues to show a bit of forward craft, he may push his way into conversations.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Tigers colts have the week off, but their reserves and league teams are playing, is JVR any chance of stepping up for the week?

I wouldn't think so. Too late in the season for that.

From what I've read both Van Rooyen and Benning will probably be playing in the GF curtain raiser. I m really scared he's going to play another blinder and then goes before our first round draft pick.

Thanks Gumnut, forgot about the state game on Saturday, yes, let’s hope they play JVR in the backline again

That is a lot of outs for WA. This might be a much closer game!

Edit: does anyone know how I can watch this match? Is it streaming from somewhere?

WA have lost a lot of players involved in WAFL finals but still have a very strong side. A lot of players for next year's draft have come in like Busslinger who is a likely top pick, Broadbent who's played league games in the ruck for Peel as a 16yo and Chase Bourne who oozes talent.

SA have also lost some of their best players who are involved in finals like Horne-Francis, Roberts and Burgoyne. I reckon WA should still be heavy favourites as their midfield remains stronger but it might be a bit closer.

I'm not sure the game will be broadcast on TV but it should be streamed on the AFL site.

If anyone watches the game live I’d love to know how Jamahl Stretch goes. Saw him in a Colts final a few weeks ago and really loved what I saw.
