Don’t do it. We’d have to change our pooch Switter’s name back to Lachie. His doggie head would spin.

Come on, Stoney, you even spelled my name wrong last time. You're just not applying yourself. I know you can do it. I believe in you.

Braden Quartermaine's column in tomorrow's Weest.
Amongst other things that Freo should not pay overs for getting Neale back.

Lachie has at least 3-4 years left. He's one of the best midfielders in the AFL. Our premiership window is starting to open and we just lost a top 5 draft pick midfielder.

Sure, you can draft another 17 year old but that just sets you back the 3 years that Cerra just had.

An over supply of inside midfielders? Has Quartermaine never heard of injuries or midfield rotations? They had Switkowski at centre bounces recently FFS!

It's a no brainer - Pick #6 & Future 1st round pick from Carlton for Cerra. Then trade pick #8 plus some later picks for Neale. You get a better 1st round pick this year + wherever Carlton end up next year + Neale.

Or keep your later picks for this year and give Brisbane pick #8 & Carlton's future pick instead. Either way, you've improved this year's draft position and got a Brownlow medallist.

Go grab an outside mid or wingman with Pick #6. You don't need another tall forward. We already have Taberner, Treacy and Lobb and Darcy also goes forward now.

Welcome home prodigal son.

The player we need is a goalkicking sharpshooter, whether he plays in the guts, up forward or down back, that's what we need. Neale ain't that player.

I can't believe Davo thinks we don't need another key forward, particularly after talking about injuries. Lobb and Taberner rarely play a full season and we were at times left with Treacy to be our only key forward. Plus they are both in their late 20s so you've only got on young guy coming through to replace them.
Then talking about the best young ruckman in the competition as a forward. He kicked a few good goals this year but in the ruck is his go.
Even with our midfield at full strength this year and previous years, the one thing we can't do is kick a decent score.
We definitely need more forward options.

I'm guessing we could get Lachie and Jye Amiss or Jack Williams couldn't we.. Give up pick 6 (or whatever we get for Cerra) and draft Amiss or Williams at 8.. Get a winger and small forward with our other picks
Fyfe can play a bit more time forward if needed
Happy Days

We tried the Fyfe forward thing this year without success.

So do you want to trade Taberner? Because if you don't think he's going to play, we can't afford him and another tall forward.
