Yeah, I'm hearing ya, hypen.

It's a hard world when you put in a preseason, play a full season and then have to back up the following week for finals.

There are limits...

The plot thickens - Ryan Daniels has tweeted that sometimes things happen in news that are unavoidable , it was out of Barra's hands, but he did the right thing.
Barra tweeted that it was a "tricky situation ".
Make of that what you will.

OK
First promo a few mins into the news
Barich says Dockers bombshell,a dockers superstar has decided his future,(vision of Cerra training)then he says his decision coming up next.
2ndpromo
Carr says to Barich i believe you have some breaking news for freo fans,to which Barich replies ,Buddy lucky to get off,and we now have 3 stars injured no reference to Cerra.
And then just before he reads the sports ,and there will be an ad break ,he says A devastating decision for a docker star(vision again of Cerra). And reading what Daniels said ,i said(earlier in this message) he must have been told to can it.

Barra couldn't tell the difference between Fyfe & Cerra and kept putting up the wrong clips.

As for Cerra leaving, is that news linked to Pavlich definately heading back to SA?

Its certainly not sounding positive.
A real kick in the guts if true
Disappointing that despite many changes at the club, we still leak info like a disorganised and un-united club..

Has there ever been a player that has come out and said I’m leaving prior to the end of the season? You see it all the time in other codes but it is very rare and almost non existent in the AFL.

Things change at freo but the result stays the same.
I think the lack of sustainable success , arrogance of the club to still believe that they are a destination club and therefore can choose any Victorian based player and will turn them around.
Certainly no easy fix and not one solution.
If cerra leaves I don’t believe it is a reflection necessary of longmuir but I recall at the time there was surprise we chose such an obvious candidate that would likely have strong family ties to go home as well as being a suburban Melbourne boy.

Hopefully the rumble is all BS and he stays, otherwise a real kick in the guts. Add Langdon , hill , crozier etc . I just wish we would stick to only west Aussie based players for say 5 years and once we can prove sustainable success try our hand from outside the state.

Agreed Exceed, don't forget one Lachie Neale. I guess that Cerra, if he is to leave, has at least honoured his contract before moving on. Seems Lachie Neale couldn't wait to get out of Fremantle. What does that say. Destination club ...lol.

From Shane's earlier kind post so we didn't have to click a seven news linky thing;

"It is believed that he will undergo negotiations in the coming week before announcing that decision."

"Seven News understands that the decision has been made and he will let the club know of that decision this week, or maybe next week but definitely before the end of the season."

My spin from the above is he's off, he's negotiating his deal with his destination club (comment 1) who are doing the list management / salary cap dance and once that's resolved (hence the undefined time frame), he'll be informing Fremantle (comment 2).

If he was negotiating with Fremantle his new contract terms, you'd think he'd actually have to inform Fremantle of that sooner rather than later. This reads like we're a a secondary party to whatever's going on.

Have we ever seen any players' contract extension negotiation reported is these sorts of terms? It is seven of course but yeah ... writing seems to be on the wall ...

Players come players go. If he goes we just need to ensure we get our due.

Blame COVID

And I’m not being flippant.

Vic kid, Vic partner he moved over here with.

Restrictions on travel since March last year have made it difficult for all to travel within Aus. Plus hub for some of the AFL teams. So neither of them have been able to travel East freely, nor family come visit.

Reckon it’ll be a factor in his final decision.
