And 2021 is done. Don’t worry dockers fans. Now you might see our team play some decent footy to finish 10th or thereabouts. Then will come preseason, where we can all fantasize about how good freo could be with our best 22 on the park. We will beat the eagles again in a pre season game to really get our hopes up for a decent season, only to realize by round 6 that we are again very average. Geez supporting this mob is painful.

I do believe the coaches understand clearly the shortfalls, but turning around an AFL side can be slow. No doubt average recruitment, injuries and below average player management does not help.
We are not too far away , but have some glaring deficiencies. Our wingers are not elite , still lack a second ruck forward and another midfielder .

Corp, I think they were referring to tackles inside 50. We had a reasonable number of marks inside 50, courtesy of Darcy (who should have had four goals), but we had two tackles inside 50 compared to Sydney's 28. For most of the season we've applied no forward pressure and the opposition get out too easily. With Schultz's form dropping off lately, none of our small forwards have any consistent impact on the game. They weren't short of opportunities in the first quarter, but they have no second effort and they don't tackle - painful to watch when our midfielders work their guts out.

Nothing like losing three of your best players, and Darcy on one leg. And we can't underestimate the loss of Treacy pre-game. Tabs was double-teamed most of the time and Treacy would have prevented that and probably scored a few goals himself. We couldn't take a trick today. Though no excuses for our poor decision-making and substandard skills. 70 turnovers in a game!

How many of our small forwards on current form or even overall form would get a game at another club? Henry would be picked up due to his potential but isn't having any impact, and maybe Schultz, who is very inconsistent, as a list filler, but am I on my own in thinking that Colyer, Banfield, Crowden are not that good?

At the next Dockerland AGM I intend putting a motion that no post calling for a player to be dropped will be allowed unless you can nominate someone at Peel who would be a superior replacement will be accepted. I know that will mean a few of you will not be able to post in future but so be it.

I would like to see Western given another go, but therein lies the problem. He's the only other option we have in the small forward department. Perhaps he will come in for Sonny.
Due to our mounting injury toll we are forced to play players who probably don't deserve a game.
Nothing wrong in saying that imo.
