Poor selection for that game.

We needed a few bigger bodies. Meek should have played to give Darcy a lighter load and perhaps provide another target up forward. We had nothing up forward and the coaching staff should’ve seen this.

Effort and heart in the game was weak by some, Geelong just walked away from some contests.

They played off a five day break too, didn’t seem to bother them.

We need a haircut coach. Some of our blokes seem more bothered about how their hair sits than earning their $500k plus.

Given their size and experience I didn’t expect to win but call it for what it was, a pathetic effort. We didn’t run as hard as them.

What a disappointing game. We were flat footed(when not slipping over), had the fumbles, couldn’t hit a target and couldn’t get the ball off them. In the second quarter when they were just using us as witches hats I don’t understand why we didn’t try to man up, guarding space wasn’t working and they just chipped it from one end to the other with ease.
I said on the way to the ground to my wife that I hoped it wouldn’t be a repeat of the game last year and it turned out to be a carbon copy.
I think we’re now cooked looking at the injuries and we should send fyfe off for surgery and play the lesser lights to see who we need to get rid of.
I was hoping the team could stay in the eight to play a final and get some experience but that opportunity appears to be out of reach.
Starlight didn't do very well out of us this year either….

We’re a young team, we’ve had a few weeks away, barely unpacked our bags off a short break and have been clearly out-played by a seasoned and deep team who has their eye on a premiership.

It’s disappointing but it’s the sort of speed bump that’s to be expected.

It’s how they respond next week that’s important.

Something I don't understand. Everyone whinges about short breaks and long trips and then when we play like that, on the back of a short break and a long trip, it's a heart and effort related problem. Geelong are a far better team that Fremantle and we were flat from 2 weeks on the road. That's what happens.

The outcome felt clear in the first 10 minutes; we were out-of-sorts and it looked like a belting coming up.

I agree with a few other comments that it would have been an opportunity to 'manage' a few players, especially Darcy and Mundy.

ABC Radio saying Treacy was reported for striking? Also laughing off the elbow to Sonny's head in front of goal.

What struck me at the game was the size of the Geelong players, compared with ours. They were much bigger, but also faster than our players. Better skilled, better positioned, faster, fitter and stronger. I guess that’s why they won, but it doesn’t make it any less depressing. We’re a long way off finals level right now.

Our boys need a lot more time in the gym. Geelong showed us up as a team not quite ready to take on the big boys in heavy weather. It takes time to build strength.
BTW Menegola enjoys playing us, he monstered the Freo players and created havoc by throwing his weight around and we had no answers.
2022 can’t come soon enough but it may take more than just one more preseason.
Very disappointed from what Freo showed tonight.

A gym is pretty close to the bottom rung on the ladder of things needed to improve on that abomination tonight.

There’s not one positive to take from it. Not one.

Makes all the carp non-footy things about Perth Stadium events - like engineers spending millions of dollars to design and build escalators that require lollipop people to direct a quarter crowd to get down safely - 500 times more annoying.

What the jeebus was Bailey Banfield doing for 2.5 hours?

With the right boots we only.lose by 30.
Stick tackles and lose by 2-3 goals.

But yeah, a touchup by a very fit, strong side playing man on man finals footy, where losing 4 of our biggest players during the match - include Acres and Fyfe - they played it out manfully and will learn a lot about playing under extreme pressure.

Way too soon to wield the axe.
