TOPIC: Treacy who would have thought

Treacy is the new hero Morgan; it's an emotional need, but you have to admit he is an out and out gun at the moment. No need to trim the topsails!

Now about that Premiership Window, this game threw up some nice surprises in Fyfes absence. Rhys's double, Colyer, a fit Pearce, Lobbs marking. Mikey will get his mojo back,. Western will have some games under his belt,. Tabs is around the corner. We'll have that window back ready for 2022.

exactly Hypen - Country Vic boys stick around..Mundy is a prime example, Suban another..He still wont leave!
Its a shame Cerra wasnt from Bendigo too
Look at Brissie - when they couldnt keep any players they focused on Country lads.
McCluggage was pick 3 from memory and that draft they focused on country Vic players - that has worked for them

Add Tucker, Alex Pearce from Tasmania, Serong is from the bush. Tabs is from some real random place up near the NSW border.

I would put it to you that the number of players who are speculated to be leaving is significantly higher than players who actually leave.

A Gunston / Pavlich hybrid you say ...

I did the math.

That's 280 games for Freo and ~554 goals if Dunston never plays another game. Placing him second on our all time goal kicking list and lazy 3 club best and fairest, 3 AAs, leading goal kicker x 5, and a Premiership or 2. I rounded down.

All assuming he is a 50:50 mix, if he's more Pav than Jack it trends higher, except on Premierships of course

No pressure Josh.

Look things I like most about this kid is:

- he takes contested marks when he is out of position in the contest and this is doubly-awesome because it means if he keeps this up his opponents, intercept defenders / third-men up will be coached to punch ball away rather than go for their marks against him.
- he brings a physical presence (beyond pressure) to the forward line Tabs and Lobb do not.
- looks like he'll cope with pressure of being a KPP in a two team town for the team the media hates.

All I know is I've listed all the talls that Freo could have taken over the years. Morgan repeatedly fired back, "but every other club passed up on him, too". Drafting is inexact at the best of times, Hypen.

We have all seen with our own two eyes what an eighteen footballer is doing at the highest level. And are very excited about it. But hey, keep our powder dry here - every club passed on this kid. There must be more to it.

Everyone else has been taking first round forwards for years while we were taking defenders and small mids.

They all full up.

I wonder if, at 18, theres still a chance hes growing? Wouldnt that be nice!!
Just a sight for sore eyes, seeing this young man instinctively delay and time his leads, force the kicker to deliver into the corridor space and then the beautifully uncomplicated kicking style. Coupled with his natural instincts and clear confidence illustrated by his insistance on that meeting with JLo to determine exactly why he wasnt being played. Not many 18 yr olds do that. Like Henry, they both believe in themselves. He is already one of the reasons Im going each week.

I just hope someone informs the commentary team that he doesn’t like “the big Cahuna” and prefers “cyclone” or “Dic” or the combination “cyclone, Dic Treacy”

I doubt that will happen. I remember Carey never liked being called King when his nickname was Duck, by McAveney in particular. Does Stringer like being called The Package?
And I can't stand Taylor when he is commentating a Sydney game and has to say Lloooyyd instead of Lloyd and at Geelong, Par Fit instead of Parfitt.
Rant over, but I'm sure there's others.
