The momentum, crowd, and frees were against them early in the final quarter and they hung in there. Didn’t get blown off the park. Got the Mundy goal through being brave. Today was a step forward compared to past two weeks.

I would like to hear more snarky remarks form Noddy.

It was a good game of footy, we didn't take enough chances but if we had, it would have just meant that Essendon had further to chase us down and might not have made it. It was the lack of legs that cost us in the end, they stepped up and we couldn't go with them. Being on the road for 2 weeks took it's toll.

One area that can be pinpointed today was the return of 1 goal from our 5 small forwards. Henry is not up to AFL yet and needs to hone his game in the WAFL, Walters is at a crossroads and Schultz has lost his spark. Switta at least has an excuse but Colyer and Crowden are just not delivering enough. Bring back Bewley, Blakely, Western for a look and Treacy. Lobb is a real concern he just doesnt make second efforts enough, Meek gives a lot more and frees up Darcy to play forward more. Tucker will get better with games. We can look forward to better performances but what a waste today was.

Schultz spent most of the game up the ground, I'd like us to play him exclusively in the forward 50. He's a smart player, I reckon he'd have a field day. Has the potential to be our best small forward since the Wiz.

jcalb. Logue isn't an issue. As others have pointed out, the small forwards are out of form, Fyfe's goal kicking is atrocious, Walters is badly out of form. By all means select an escaped goat, but Logue isn't the one you should be eying off.
