What’s your thoughts on him playing right now? IMO he is just too small for AFL at the minute. He doesn’t affect any contest, can’t tackle and is an outside threat only. It’s like playing one short pardon the pun. Does this experience in the bigs do him any favours at all?

I think that circumstances force the selectors hand, I can see Henry, Western, Treacy, and anyone else getting rotated a couple of games at a time. Until our injury crisis lessens, anyway. Whatever game time they get will benefit them, as long as they are not run into the ground. Henry showed enough to say that he is up to AFL, and with a couple more big bodies around him, will use that space he creates.

He showed yesterday that he's building some confidence playing in the bigs, I say keep him there for another couple of games. I thought he was one odd ball bounce away from a spectacular run on play yesterday - if it bounced up he was away.

I really like him. He looks exciting near the ball. He is going to prove a handful for defenders.

And I'm not sure that him getting bigger and stronger will add a lot to his game.

I think Michael Frederick and him are similar in that they are both very keen to do well and that can result in a gap between what they're able to do in an AFL game and what they would like to do in an AFL game.

Frederick settled down with a few more games in him and I think Henry will be the same.

We picked these guys because they are ambitious, high achievers at a very young age. They want to excel from the minute they step on a footy ground. He just needs to reach a point where reality and his own expectations converge.

There are plenty of other players with a similar build to him playing AFL. It would be nice to have the luxury of a top side around him to help him develop, but we don't.
Western is a similar build pushing for selection. You can't not give them a game because you think they might be too small. How are they going to prove whether they are up to it or not if you don't try them.
Besides someone like Acres is built like the old brick s/house, but I don't see him throwing himself into the fray.

That moment yesterday when Acres didn't even bother to bend down to pick up the ball confirmed once again that it isn't about how big you are, but how much you want it. I think Henry will be good but he just needs to run a bit harder for longer and value every contest.

What's happened to Leno Thomas? Thought he was getting close a few weeks back but has now completely disappeared. Not playing for Peel or on injury list.
For a temporary fix and a sizeable defender, any takers on Will Schofield. Don't all reach for the keyboard at once. It's an out of left field suggestion for a bad situation, he's in pretty good form at the moment and he's already schooling the kids down at Peel.

Well it was worth a thought, but back to my original post. Where is Leno Thomas? I really thought he could offer a bit of run and grunt out of defence but it seems he has disappeared without a trace, Anyone know what's happening with him??
