TOPIC: Freo v Brisbane

Crowden is too slow for AFL footy
We don’t tackle enough and are not hard enough
Our defence has huge holes (understandable given players out with injury)
I wish Fyfe had more impact as a forward. It would solve so many of our problems up forward
Walters is out of form

Fremantle were severely undermanned and fought the game out. The game plan, and coaching, is fine. To me anyway. But there is just not enough elite users of the ball on our list. Outside of Mundy and an out of form Walters, it is hard to come up with many players that can hit a target with any kind of regularity needed for this level. I am probably being unkind to Wilson, who is a nice kick as well, and Luke Ryan. The player that has me most worried though is Brayshaw. His kicking on the run is really poor and not getting any better. He also seems to struggle to kick it much beyond 40 metres. It's a shame because he is elite at most other things and is a natural successor as captain. Even Fyfe, who is a terrible kick for goal, is usually a pretty decent kick in general play.

I (like the commentators) thought that once Fyfe got a goal, the shackles were off, but two minutes later he missed from 25m out and it never looked like it was going through. Leave him in the middle and bring in Meek, so Darcy can play forward, I would have said bring back Treacy but he’s not even in the squad.

If only Fyfe and Brayshaw could kick like Mundy and Walters .... wow ...

That wasn't really the gist of my post if that's what your suggesting.

We fought it out and came within a Tabs of losing by three goals when ten (or more) was clearly on the cards. I'm ok with that - we showed guts when we could've laid down.

I can kick a lot of players for that game, but when push came to shove we took it to them - Connor came in and was pretty good too. In our rematch we can all have a good boo-athon when That Traitor Neale comes back and we'll send them down below.

Makes you wonder why Blakely is so on the outer when you see the continual minimal output from Acres and Crowden.

Crowden not AFL standard. Would not get a game on any other list

Tucker was handy in defence, I liked his game.

In an interview Sean Darcy admits the team wasn’t connecting as a group and didn’t get off the bus well…wtf…..time for a bbq. They play like they’re not connected.

Is "Walters is out of form" the new "Walters is a stager" ? How many times did he get a whack to the head today, and how many free kicks did he get for them?

You can't drop Lobb. He can kick goals, along with Tabs, Mundy, Walters and Schultz. The stutter step is gone.

I'm pained to agree on Crowden. But then I'm not sure what JLO is asking him to do. But he will go out when Switkowski is fit again. Or maybe not, now that Fredericks is injured.

I'll eat my words from a few weeks back on Watson - he is looking a lot better now. That said, he must be due for a season-ending injury. Its his turn.

Brayshaw played really well, particularly when Fyfe wasn't there. Can't wait to get Cerra back out there.

Logue looked better - still not good, but he is really trying to do the right thing.

No, Walters is out of form no matter what way you want to defend or make excuses for him.

Yeah, it is a luxury when your out-of-form small forward still bobs up to kick a goal.
