Yeah, I've been looking back at the three games we've played against the slime this year - 2 preseason and 1 in season and some things are beginning to look disquieting.
In the first game we lost Luke Ryan in the first game due to a knee in the back from Brander, fortunately not a long term injury.
In the second preseason game, we lost Lobb and Banfield to injuries caused by tackles below the knees. This is an area of concern. We lost other players to 'normal' causes but tackling below the knees is a tactic with serious injury potential.
In the recent derby, Hughes was injured in a fairly crude tackle from Sheppard and Frederick wore an injured ankle from yet another below the knees 'spoil attempt'.
We must have the worst run of coincidences to pickup so many injuries from slime players diving into people's legs. It's looking like we cop more serious injuries when we play against the slime. Maybe something worth looking at.
