Also, it was one of those games where a frustrated Fyfe in the past would have gotten himself rubbed out for two weeks for whacking a bloke in the back of the head. Instead he just head shoved some Eagles bloke in the back of the head then stood on him, which would have been only 70% as satisfying but means gets to play next week.

I’d like to find more reasons to explain that result, but they beat us by 10 goals and the two teams that ran out, and even the two teams that finished, aren’t 10 goals apart for talent.

I agree, they aren't 10 goals apart in talent, the only other explanation is that the AwFL appoints Margetts & Dalgliesh/Williamson to provide the 10 goal difference.

We aren’t good at dealing with the chip and run style the WC play but are are also lacking enough quality senior players, particularly when the going gets tough.

Again too much was left to Mundy and Fyfe who tried their guts out.

It’ll take a while before we are consistently competitive.

There's a few players that probably shouldn't be getting a gig but we aren't exactly rolling in talent.
I felt sorry for Logue today as he was on a hiding to nothing. He has played virtually no footy for over 2 years, was given one game at Peel and then rushed back in because we were desperate. He is trying to find form in probably the toughest position on the ground, against a couple of blokes that usually tear us apart, and did so again. He wasn't great but he's probably not even a full back. Who else could they put on Kennedy or Darling? If the club can find someone to fill the full back position until Hamling or Pearce return I think Logue would be worth a run on a wing or up forward.

Pretty depressing day really. I struggle to see us beating this Eagles team for a while yet.

Out of curiosity, I’ve always looked at that eagles team and thought they were pretty big.

Take for example Allen vs Duman. I’m guessing they are about the same vintage but Allen has put on some serious size whereas Duman is still about the same as when we drafted him.

Kennedy and darling are both really big lads. Taberner is tall but doesn’t seem to have a lot of muscle.

Am I imagining things?
