I'm going to get this out of the way early this year...the AFL's disregard for Freo's Len Hall Game (which dates back to the same year as the first Essendon v Collingwood ANZAC Day game, though not in name until a year later) is one of the more egregious examples of the AFL’s fixturing callousness towards Freo (and interstate clubs generally).
The AFL had a perfectly good chance to set aside a standalone ANZAC Eve game, for example, and gifted it to Melbourne and Richmond instead, who already have marquee games on the calendar.
Even North Bloody Melbourne were finally (and rightfully) awarded Good Friday.
