TOPIC: Schultz

Mundy's goal came about when Treacy ran at the ball, attracted 2 defenders and an unpaid high tackle then dished off to Mundy as he went down. His presence opens the goal to others. Keep the faith.

That was Fyfe that dished it to Mundy.

If you’re getting them confused a can see why you’d want Treacy in the team. Treacy had 5 touches.

I think Schulz is one of the big improvers in the AFL at 23 if he carries on like this he could become an elite player

And I rescind my claim, but not the general sentiment. Treacy may get a spell at Peel but that is normal for 18yos. He will be a beast for us one day.
And I'm due new glasses. B****y modern hairstyles.

Fyfe. He goes alright but we don't notice any more. Premiership window is 2021 (hopefully not just 'April').
Strap yourselves in

The thing about players like Schultz and Switkowsk is that they don't have much upside. They are already brilliant at getting the very best out of themselves, but they don't have the body of a Logue, or the speed of a Fredericks. Logue and Fredericks can become truly awesome as their footy brain and skills develop. Schultz and Switta have the skills and brains - but they'll never have the brawn or speed.
Having said that, I'd have both in my team every week.

Fair point, roger, but the “thing” about Schultz” is the quality of his ball handling. To my mind it’s the most important skill in footy, and if you master it, it gives you body and speed.
The best example of that is another Lachie, the one who does okay for Brisbane these days; if our Lachie can work on his tank there’s plenty of upside left in him, maybe in a different role than we’d imagined him playing.
As for Switter; you’re right, of course, but he’s a little beauty nevertheless.

Is Frankie or Roy to blame?

Zorro, Schultz has brain to body speed, and that is irreplaceble. Switter is not such a fast reactor, but he gives his all, and he, Hughes, Crowden & Giro are going to be invaluable "19th men" for a few years to come.

Sorry Raglan,i cannot put Hughes in the same category as you have .( Crowden, Giro, and Schultz)And Giro is marginall too
He is still like a deer in headlights,i reckon he has cost us 8 goals in the last three weeks.
Young,Hamling,Pearce will easily displace him out of the team.
He's had some good games granted, but the turnovers are critical by him.
His kicking and handball are really bad.

Given we have yet to see those 3 players play a full game together, Hughes is going to get more game time as a "19th man", and he is not the only one to cost us goals this year, Wilson, Young, Cox, all have made some shockers at times. That goes with the territory these days. While he is no Luke Ryan, or Roger Hayden, he will give value for effort when needed, and that is what counts.
