Well looks like plan B then. Players just take out thier brains before the game starts and store it in a big jar for safety purposes. Only Problem with this idea I can see is the potential to have 9 games a week of Colonwood vs Colonwood each week and that would start to get confusing I would think.

Reid basically had his eyes on the ball the whole time, but certainly had an awareness that a Fremantle player was coming, may not have been even aware it was Fyfe. He was hardly moving at impact. I can't believe the drama surrounding this- certainly the line of reasoning that 'this was worse than Dangerfield...' - Reid is effectively stationary, eyes on the ball, barely shifts off the ground at impact, and protected/braced himself perfectly.

If this was someone from Fremantle in Reid's position I would be absolutely ropable at the injustice.

isn’t that just really another way of saying “preparing to bump”, knowing there will be contact and then intending to make contact in a particular manner?

the low end of the grading system was that this incident was careless contact, which is the most subjective element and the heart of the debate. maybe, just maybe, if you really wanted to protect the long term welfare of players, you’d remove that subjective element...

We know Fyfe had his eyes on the ball as it’s clear to see, and Reid did a good job of making it look like he did. Amazing feat that Reid had his eyes on the ball and in a split second the foresight to come off the ground just as he and Fyfe connected.

The collision between Cox and Conca is what happens when two players are watching the ball, it’s a train wreck.

If Balla or Crowley had done that to a marquee player they’d have copped 4-5 weeks,

If a Melburnian like Watson reckons they got it wrong, I’m with him.

Yeah, I've gone back and watched that bump over and over, fast motion and slow and I'm absolutely convinced that was intentional.

Reid covered a fair amount of ground in a short timeframe and made no attempt to play the ball. Prior to contact he had pointed his shoulder toward Fyfe and leaped into the contact. He had both feet off the ground at the point of collision and the shoulder hit Fyfe's head directly.

He had no eyes for anything but Fyfe and turning his head away just before the contact shouldn't actually fool anybody.

That hit should have been graded intentional and severe and Reid should have been sent straight to the tribunal. Just more inconsistency from the AFL.

That guy who lined up Fyfe must have a Crab heritage if he was running towards the ball. Was not in play and he was lined up. Watch the replay.
The AFL said there was other things they took in consideration why the contact was made and two weeks was the penalty ....AFL pet project.?...It was only a Docker player.?
