Also don't make things up because you haven't accepted the concept that you can no longer have players injuring the heads of other players at work.

Framing it as "Unfortunate accident or a brutal hit?" is not grasping the issue. The question is - could he have prevented the collision? If he could have, there are consequences.

I'm not arguing there shouldn't be a penalty. I can't see anything intentional to clean Fyfe up. But a bloke got hurt and had to be removed from the game. If Fyfe has to take a concussion holiday, so should the perp.

We all see it differently - I was at the game and what I saw was this big bloke run the length of the field with a clear intent to cannon into our skipper (and dual Brownlow medallist, All Australian and genuine AFL marquee stadium drawcard) right to the side of the head with his elbow out and shoulder tucked in.

That's how I saw it and I was there, an eyewitness - the MRO guy can ring me for more colourful details if he wants.

I think Reid should go for 3 weeks, accident or no accident. The precedent's been set with Danger's penalty. What I also find amusing is that the same people who jumped on here to condemn young Josh Treacy for his indiscretion and that he cop his right whack of penalty are now queuing up to argue in Reid's defence. Sometimes I really wonder where peoples loyalties lie.

I’ll never like that haircut, but that’s my problem.

I heard commentators referring to three camera angles on the hit and one of them isn’t good for Reid.

Fyfe didn’t have the ball, wasn’t near it, wasn’t lining up anyone and got hit in the head by a bloke who was intent on collecting Fyfe high. It’s not even rocket surgery.
