Melbourne are shite.
This game says to me we are in for a long hard season.

Is it time to start talking about this years draft? Clearly, according to the majority here, it's season over.

Fair suck of it, Coyler created more opportunity than many. I would say more than most. More than Fyfe actually.

It’s Colyer. In clinch moments, as an experienced player, he was poor.

Too many half hearted efforts from some.

We need to ask ourselves as a club and as Freo fans....what are our expectations?
And if our expectations are about 3/10 because we've got injuries, or having an off day, or some other reason...then that's what will get by season end......3 out of 10.
If we don't have high Expectations of players and club...we will never go anywhere.

Well that was terrible.
The thing that killed me was that the spirit out there was half hearted at best. Especially compared to the women.
I'm going to watch RSPCA Animal Rescue. Could be a few tips I could pass onto JL

A bit quick to be writing the season off. I thought our skills were very poor in the first half and we had the fumbles. We were also bombing it into the forward line where Tabs was often double teamed or Lever and May just cut it off.
In the second half we kicked shorter, attempted to kick to our advantage which seemed to be a coaching move (better late than never).
Im not sure collyer, conca and watson will be in our best 22 as players come back. I think Henry needs to stay until Walters is back but he will take some time to develop. There is much work to do on our forward line due to our lack of talls, lets hope they work on it during the week.
I hope Pearce and Hamling’s injuries aren't too bad.

Yet it was such a winnable game. All it needed was a few cool heads towards the end and we could have pinched it. It was the game that you look back on at the end of season missing the 8 by one game and say " If only..."

And it's a long season. To put it in context, have a look at the Crows v Cats game and what would the Geelong supporters be thinking right now.

Gumnut, I like your positive thinking. Unfortunately, losses like ours today have an historical base. Geelong’s loss if it happens, will be an aberration.

How long before we get our best 22/23 on the field?
Today was disappointing for the injuries to Pearce and Hamling, they looked gutted and so am I. It’s a new season but somethings don’t seem to change much. Our ball handling was average at best. Kicking for goal in the first quarter was poor. We rely on Fyfe to be everywhere and he clearly can’t be. Mundy plays his heart out but the team needs more contributors. I thought our work rate wasn’t a four quarter effort.
JLo will need some players to return to get a competitive team on the park. Some players were either not fit or not AFL standard.
Congratulations to Meek for a hard fought effort on debut.
Our mids were ok our defenders were on an off day and our forwards need some help.

At least no one will accuse us of peaking early.
