Melbourne aren't that good, it's just that Freo are worse at the moment.

Freo can actually win this game if they apply the elite pressure they know they can.

I would favour a small forward line with chaos ball kicking inside 50 instead of bombing it straight to May and Lever.

Elite ground ball forward line pressure to gain posession a la Richmond will generate shots at goal for Schultz, Switto and Henry.

Our defence is poor. Luke Ryan on no preseason game time has had a howler , fumbling etc
Skills are deplorable double handling kicking into the man on the mark and kicking high to a small forward. Just plain dumb descion making.

This will sound like a broken record but you can’t have too many average ball users in defence. Conca , hamling Ethan Hughes are average at best with conca well below.
Hopefully second half improves and we can salvage some pride , but Melbourne are a bottom 8 side and we are toyed with. Scoreline has flattered us.

We are awful.. Im at the game and Melbourne are running far harder and want the ball... skills are back to Ross Lyon era.. zero connection to the forwards and the mids are not working hard enough... jLo should have given them a bollocking for that half..

On the Pearce injury, when are umpires going to penalise defenders dragging down forwards heading into a marking contest? The injury only happened because the Melbourne number 20 dragged Alex down to stop him going up for a mark. Clear free kick, no whistle.

If Tabs back is stuffed, he shouldn't be out there. These are some pathetic efforts to bring the ball to ground where he's not even trying to body his opponent and get near the drop of the ball. Just walked away from the contest every time so a Demon takes an uncontested mark in a pack.
