Yeah he used to play for them.. I think he is living in Inglewood because I saw him walking his dog at the park the other day.. that’s pretty close.. the list size thing makes it hard for him I reckon

If we did look for a left field option for a player to give us plenty of pace and outside run I think Conor McKenna should be considered for a rookie list pickup. He's only 24, experienced and a has indicated a possibility of returning to the AFL in the future. His connections are with Essendon but I'm sure with an exciting young team and new coach he could be enticed to the West for a return. There are 6 spots on the rookie list and with only Watson and maybe Thomas laying claim to 2 of those spots this is an area where we should be looking to speculative picks with a bit of X-Factor as supplement to our main list which is quite talented. McKenna, Kalin Lane, Chris Walker, Jack Avery or Alec Waterman are the types who are not the same old dime a dozen midfielders that we usually pick and could turn into team regulars if given a chance. They also have another string to their bow in that they can play forward or back except for Lane who can play as a tall forward option.

I'm non committal on whether we went for Jetta or not, but one thing i couldn't understand was why he was used as a half back. Thought he would be much more damaging as a half forward or wingman.

Agreed - as the Eastern Swannies positioned him.

Bringing Jetta in means retiring Stephen Hill. You blokes are heartless if you want that.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Why do we play Hill as a half back, he would be much more damaging played as a half forward/Wing

Couldn't bear watching Jetta when he went to The Slime – so can't comment how he's holding up vis a vis age, injuries, views regarding chicken salt vs normal person salt – but can honestly say I lapped up every second he had the ball when playing for the Swans.

He had a scrubby start there, though. From memory I think his first career scoring shots were something like 11 straight behinds. When he finally got around to kicking goals, geez the guy was a masterclass in goofifying the opposition.

Hill's body doesn't let him do the running required of a wing. He's a half back now where he can look after himself and cruise around.

Jetta is pretty similar in that respect, he'd be settling into half back where I'd much prefer Young, Ryan, Wilson and co distributing the ball. Jetta is long past his best.

So half back is the resting place for old stalwarts perhaps? Trust Mundy to go about it the opposite way.

He played about 4 good games for the WC and particularly well when they were belting another team. Have a happy retirement.
