After all Rosich and Lyon were still at club and it was Bell’s first year I think when he backed down on his initial ‘walkaway’ from Hogan deal so probably didn’t have full backing of Club. I’m not ready to throw him under the bus yet. Onwards and upwards now with the admin and players we have. Fingers crossed.

The Bennell McCarthy and Hogan trades were wrong from the start we didn’t have the right culture for players needing attention. Ross seemed to think because he fixed Walters he could fix anyone. Problem was he didn’t fix Walters Walters fixed Walters. So then Social Worker Ross decided he could fix these 3 with the same tough love. He couldn’t he didn’t and alienated good players like Neale in the process. We had 4 good seasons but the price we have paid for that as a club and especially some players who have been chews up and spat out is too high.

I hope the 3 are able to recover from the situation they are in and get on with their lives. But our club really needs to review the care of our players to ensure their ongoing wellness.

Its good to hear Bell accept full responsibility but I think the administration owe it to the supporters of this club to point out in black and white where it all went wrong. There has been so much speculation, pretty much since Hogan arrived at the club, therefore I believe as long suffering supporters we are entitled to an reasonably detailed explanation, and not some statement that merely offers up the excuse that the club messed up.
