SEN is reporting that Hogan is being actively shopped around with other clubs with Freo willing to pay for some of his salary. Regardless of whether he stays or goes it doesn’t reflect well on our desperation to recruit him. Personally I hope he stays and fulfills his undoubted talent.

While there have been obviously been issues, Hogan playing makes us a far better side. Getting rid of him is crazy and in my opinion doesn't reflect well on the club.

How much interest is there in troubled Fremantle forward Jesse Hogan?
Quite a bit, according to Trade Radio's Sam Edmund, and the Dockers are prepared to help move him on.
Hogan has one year remaining on his contract and Freo have told rival clubs it is prepared to pay some of his $650,000 a year salary to help facilitate a trade.
It's tempting a few, Edmund says, with Sydney showing genuine interest, and even premier Richmond floated as a possible suitor.
Hogan has played just 19 games in his two years at Fremantle and recently copped an $8000 fine from the WA government for breaching COVID quarantine protocols.

I was also listening to trade radio at 530 am and they had on at the time Mitch Cleary. He said that the likely scenario was that the dockers would keep him as there was no genuine interest in Hogan at the moment. Now 2 hours later he is in demand!!!!
Either Mitch clearly knows absolutely nothing or Edmund is talking out of his proverbial?

Hello anybody,
I bought this Cadillac a couple of years ago for everything I had at the time. It's not new but it was in pretty good condition and I knew I could repair those mechanical difficulties. I've parked it on my driveway because I wanted everyone to know how great it was that I had a Cadillac. I've never given it a proper drive but it still looks great and everyone really admires that it's in my driveway. In fact, I've paid $650,000 every year just to have it parked there.

But after a couple of years paying all that I still don't want to drive it anywhere. It may have a flat tyre but I couldn't be buggered changing it - not that I really know how to in the first place.

Now I realise that some people don't even think that it's a real Cadillac and I don't want to pay $650,000 every year if that's the case. In fact, if someone really thinks this is a Cadillac, I will pay you hundreds of thousands of dollars for thinking that. I don't really need my driveway because I don't want to go anywhere but I need you to remove this Cadillac from my house.

Hey, I'm a business man - sometimes you've got to pay some chump to make others believe you're not a chump. I know what I'm doing, trust me.

I don't know enough about the inner workings of it all to offer a sensible opinion on whether Hogan should stay or go, but I'll just miss all the Hogan and Schultz jokes if he does. Perhaps we should trade him on the proviso that we recruit a Larry Tate or an Arnold Ziffel or a Roger Healy?

I'm not convinced it shows incompetence hypen. Maybe they thought bringing him home to family would settle him down and he would focus on footy. They misjudged the added influence his mates have had on him.

Every decision made by recruiters involves an element of guesswork.

If he goes it reflects terribly, on whoever was in charge of recruiting and list management throughout the years. Bennell, McCarthy, and now Hogan all traded into the club at the cost of going to the draft.
All came with question marks and we failed with all three.
Anyone remember the uproar when Bell threatened to walk away from the deal for Hogan. The Vic media screamed that we were being unreasonable.
I am the first to admit that I wanted all of these players and was excited by them. In mine and other armchair critics defence we don’t get the full picture. In the future I’m going to be a lot more reserved in my enthusiasm for players with warning signs around them. I hope the club does the same.

But there was no guessing when it came to Jesse Hogan. We all knew exactly what he was and wasn't and we did the deal. His infractions at Fremantle are consistent with his infractions at Melbourne. It must be a new coach thing.

Let’s be honest and as much as it really hurts to say but Freo’s track record in trying to get the best out of troubled footballers Is awful.

I think given our culture or whatever it is about our club we are better of staying with players who don’t come with baggage.
