In regards to Jesse Hogan and @freodockers
, I’m told the club are not actively shopping him around for trade. Hogan, his management and Freo will sit down in 2 wks to discuss his future. All on same page.

On the flip side, the @sydneyswans
have enquired about trading for Hogan.

If its true, this speaks to how absolutely incompetent our football club was for a time there. Fremantle knew exactly what they were getting with Hogan, everyone knew. Two years on they want to trade him out as they have now worked out they dont like what they knew him to be. Incredible. Its unforgivable really. I hope its wrong and we do the work associated with what we took on.

Look forward to seeing Bell's resignation if its true.

That article by 'Staff reporter' which quotes no one and contains almost no facts (it refers to Blakely as a Victorian), is absolute rubbish and means nothing.

Hogan came back home to WA to be closer to family after enduring cancer, his father's passing and dealing with mental health problems and you guys want to make out like he's leaving despite having a contract for next year and the delisting of several other KPF's in the past couple of months leaving no understudies? The media are vultures, don't buy into their bs. He is probably the most talented player on our list, he stays put.

I think I’ve made my views on CamMac and Hogan pretty clear, so (for once) I won’t repeat myself.

The challenge for Hogan is that clubs will tolerate players who cause some headaches when challenging for a flag, but it’s a much bigger ask if the club is trying to build a squad and a culture. Given the events of the year, I understand why both player and club would at least entertain offers. There are worse places for Hogan to go than Sydney.

But Hogan is too good a player to cut bait on, and there is very little chance we would get value for him in a trade. I think for better or worse Freo and Hogan need to find a way to make this work.

Hopefully this is one of those turning points that is written about when Hogan kicks three goals in a quarter of the Grand Final to seal Freo’s first premiership.
