I don't remember the umps so much...but I do remember Fyfey playing witha broken leg, and, T'-Bones's dropped chest mark....

The latter happened right in front of where i was sitting.

Maybe the umps were hopeless - it seems they generally are - but, in reality, we had a bad night....

One of the worst things that can happen for an umpire is to become famous/infamous. As soon as there is a publicly-held view about them, confirmation bias among supporters means it will be reinforced in the fans’ minds regardless of whether it is fair or not.

That’s what I would say about almost any other umpire, but Margetts just flat-out sucks.

You’d think umpires would want to be seen as unbiased, some of them need to try a lot harder. How about pay the obvious free kicks and let go the dubious ones as a start.

I agree on Razor Ray, and I would say that BT did him an enormous disservice but I reckon Razor Ray likes being a celebrity.

I actually don’t mind Ray as an umpire so long as Freo is playing away. He strikes me as one of those umpires that is trying so hard to demonstrate he’s not influenced by the home crowd he leans slightly the other way.

I reckon he’d make an awesome WWE heel referee if given the chance.
