As with all trades it takes a while to work out who was the winner (e.g. Judd vs Kennedy).
It's a bit convoluted but after ontrading of picks it looks like we essentially gave up Crozier and Weller for pick 2, which delivered Brayshaw. After a shaky start Brayshaw is coming good and will no doubt be a long term player. Whether he turns into an A grader, which you would hope for with a pick 2, is yet to be seen but Im more hopeful than I was at the start of the season. Whether he is worth two guys who will be solid contributors at their new clubs is anyone's guess. It may come down to a choice between losing depth and gaining quality?* In an ideal world you hope they all have solid careers and its a win-win.
*and none of this takes into account the need to work within the salary cap. Sometimes you have to lose players who may get more eslewhere in order to keep players you rate more highly. Crozier may be a loss but he may be getting more than he was worth to us. Im pretty sure many here were not upset with Maine getting $400k+ at the Magpies while playing in the VFL.
