Why did they give us the game when it's the only game that might get a crowd over a couple of hundred?
North Melbourne and Cartlon playing the Gabba on the Saturday might get a bakers dozen crowd, and the amount of viewers on a Monday night.
The supposed win of playing "BIG STAGE" event is rubbish as it never is win for a club getting belted on a Friday night on the "BIG STAGE" myth.
It's a Melbourne thing of after work drinks and off to the footy no matter what club was playing.

Why is it OK for Collingwood v Geelong play tomorrow before the 14 days are up.
Is it that their both teams from Victoria could be effected on Thursday but won't be Sunday?.

I guess you need to follow what's going on a bit, mac. The idea is (and will continue to be as interstate teams roll through Perth) that they can play each other while they are in the 14-day quarantine but not one of the WA teams.
So, really, the AFL is just doing what the WA Government allowed them to do. The acid test will be what the Rd 9 fixture looks like, so let's keep our powder dry until then, shall we?

Well, you can understand (a bit) that the AFL really can't have the WA teams just sitting here for 10 more rounds picking off Victorian teams as they roll past us like clowns in a sideshow alley shooting gallery.

Of course I'm more attracted to the theory that the AFL can't afford to let crowds of 30/60,000 keep watching game in a spanking new coliseum that looks as big-shot as the MCG in case the pressure to play the finals - and the grand final - here becomes too great to resist.

Because that might upset the cosy little deal of the half-century the AFL and the Victorian government cooked up over port and cigars at the Athenaeum Club a couple of years ago to keep Melbourne as the Home of Football for the rest of most of our lives.
