It's very concerning how they are just making this up as they go.

How was there not a protocol in place that was automatically triggered when someone tested positive?

How can you have any confidence in the AFL's ability to do deal with this when their only objective, in front of player welfare, in front of community safety, is to keep the tv cameras rolling.

Wasn't there a protocol in place whereby the AFL season would shut down for a further 30 days if any player tested positive? Or something like that.

Gil has just decided, now push has come to shove, that he doesn't much care for that and so has chosen to ignore it. It is astounding the way he runs this game.

I understand that Gil made the auto stop comment a couple of months ago, things have been changing at a fast pace not only for AFL and the whole community
I for one give absolute credit to how well Gil and the AFL have handled the season and I am also just happy to have the footy back

What I abhor about the way this is handled is that the AFL make hard and fast statements on what process will be followed, then change to "make it up as we go along to suit our agenda". Just like they do with the tribunal and directives to umpires regarding interpretation of the laws of the game.

Look on the bright side. I can't see the Richmond vs Eagles game on the GoldCoast going ahead... so those precious Tigers who haven't left the MCG in 12 weeks will have to fly over West and Hub.
