I think Morgan is on to it - this’ll all be about a bargaining position and if the negotiated outcome is the Town of Vic Park can screw the Eagles for some more cash, who are we to complain?

Lathlian Park would be several hundred rate paying dwellings with a small park with community swing and slide ( do they still have that? )if the low life didn't nest.( or what they do)

I live in Carlisle - local residents were led to believe during the community consultation phase that there would be no ticketed games held by Eagles at the ground. They pay $1 a year in rent, so rate payers are effectively having to subsidise traffic control / etc while the club are making money - that is what has caused the most upset and that impacted houses were not informed roads were being closed. I think the Town will look to be getting reimbursed for costs if they want to have ticketed games in future, not to stop them

I used to live in Carlisle and having several thousands Slimers in the neighbourhood would’ve been my worst nightmare that no amount of money could compensate.
Bloody glad I moved away in time...

Throw the book at them I say... then negotiate a massive fee and rates reduction to placate the poor residents

Ex Lathlain, now East Vic Park but within sight of Lathlain oval. I was not sold on the benefits of the Eagles moving in. I am not sure how much they are contributing to the local area. At least the old bowls club site and Rayment Park have been made into really nice parks. On Thurs night I did notice more traffic than usual and an accident on Millers St. The prat in me thought it wasn't a local who isn't used to the challenge of the Miller/ Shepperton Rd crossing.
