a final point from me on this - there also seems to be considerable misunderstanding in equating draft pick value and player value. They are not the same thing.

One is like having a pile of cash, the other is how you choose to spend it. Just because you spend $200K on a racehorse doesn't mean you're going to get a better return than the bloke who spends $150K.

No system can predict the future value of someone nominating in the draft. But everyone will have a view on their potential.

The more I look at it I reckon Fremantle will match a bid for Henry and go into a deficit for next year. Then trade next years first round pick to get back into this draft. So then only our next years second round pick will get used to match the bid. I reckon we will be able to get back into the draft from Pick 14-20.

I noticed you have a buffer of 2 between an Apple and an Orange. Does this mean a 4 is a poor Apple, while a 6 is an excellent Apple. However, maybe a 6 is a poor Orange... maybe there needs to be a wider buffer. Possibly a 3 for Apple and 7 for Orange?
