Some say tahmayta, some say tahmahto
but one thing everyone knows,
when it comes to a slaying and a tradin'
this bloke's like a deevil from hell.
So goes the myth of Peter Bell.

He was instrumental in sacking Ross & Steve, he’ll be getting the benefit of the doubt for a few more years from me.

There is no myth, Biz. Bell has gone to the trade table twice and got pretty much what he wanted.

You can't spin a negative from that. Unless, you look at how we injure key players as if it was another KPI.

Bizkit, you must be great fun at parties. Bloody hell!
For year after year everyone was crying out for KPF's at Freo. Belly at the very least helped a lot to make that happen with 2 good/very good tall forwards. Credit where credit's due.

People often put different values on players based on the facets that they regard as important.

While some could look at some of the trades we have done and say they were all wonderful, others could look at the same trades and consider them poorly judged because of different metrics. I'm kind of agreeing with Bizkit on the Langdon trade and disagreeing on the Hill trade in as much as I put Hill's value a bit higher.

The thing to remember is that a trade can be evaluated completely differently and both evaluations can be correct depending on the metrics being applied. Some might value skills over tank or reading the play over skills. Both can be right and I generally step lightly when disagreeing with Biz because his in depth knowledge of players is somewhat better than mine (darn)

I think the one metric that we can generally agree on is Bell is an upgrade on Bond, Chris Bond. At least Bell can land decent targets, whether you agree or disagree on the merits of any trade.

The Langdon deal may not have been ideal, but Melbourne, his club of choice, had the 2nd pick in the preseason draft. They could have got him for nothing, What was Bell/Freo supposed to do? I wish Freo could have got more too, but the facts are what they are. Not liking them doesn't change them.

Having met Biz, he is a very astute and knowledgeable person and I respect his analysis, although he can be wrong sometimes.
