I actually don’t care whether the deal gets done or not. If Bradley ends up stuck at Freo or Peel for the next year or two then so be it.
It’s important that clubs know that if they target contracted players, make offers mid season then they have to compensate accordingly and pay overs if necessary. Otherwise what’s the point? Players breaking contracts, then crying foul is plain wrong in my view. Don’t sign the bloody thing in the first place without bring pretty sure you know what you are committing to.

Melbourne and their pick 3 could come into calculations next week. Langdon on one wing, Hill on the other is exactly what they need.

Never understood why they weren't chasing Hill to begin with. I also think North Melbourne could do with him.

You know, back in August, I was surprised that Stephen Hill re-signed with Freo because he had (supposedly) a huge offer in front of him from the Suns.

When he re-signed I thought maybe Freo increased their offer as a sweetener to get Bradley to stay.
Then Bradley still requested a trade.
Always made me wonder if Freo would have re-signed Stephen if they knew that Bradley was intending to leave regardless.

Funnily enough, Stephen said when he re-signed that “It was a pretty easy decision to stay with the club and to get another two years."

St Kilda are in strife here. It is not like Freo were trying to offload Bradley; we love him and rate him.
You don't go courting a gun player (who has more than 2 years left on his contract) with big promises and big dollars and then don't do the deal; players don't like getting hung out to dry.
St Kilda should ask the Suns and Lachie Weller how this will end up.

St Kilda aren't in strife. They didn't court him. He courted them.
They're no better or worse off than they were at the start of the week.

Brad Hill is in strife. You know, the bloke we supposedly love.

I reckon we could be a bit 'creative' with this as well...

Maybe I'm 'off with the fairies', but a seasoned professional footy player like Brad Hill knows what he 'needs' to do to be conditioned, skilled and 'up' for everygame.

If the 'girlfriend cant leave Melbourne ' is the only reason for leaving, well, given we play there every 13 days or so, well why not base him there with a professional trainer $100k a year, a gym, a surrogate training club, and skype & teleconferencing and the like...??

Yep, comradie is a bit lacking - and team bonding- , but maybe we have to start giving some thought outside the square on this one.??

He, -and we- , can 'have our cake and eat it'....

And once we 'go there' , well, maybe ot becomes a bit easier to attract other 'seasoned Melbourne based players...??

I think St Kilda have courted Brad Hill, the same way the Suns courted Lachie Weller.

I reckon we'll end up with either picks 12 and 13 or 12 ,18 and Acres.

The Saints will cave, if not we keep Brad.

I'd be happy with any one of these three choices

I think the Deaf Cheats should've asked themselves "Do you want to meet with Peter Bell with his chest puffed out, or Peter Bell with his chest puffed out, frowning and bloody angry?'. Theyre not too bright if theyre prepared to do the latter. Go Belly!

No, not bright at all. Last year GC put on a clinic of how not to go about poaching a contracted player from Freo. Oh how we laughed....

Appears that the saints were the only club taking notes from GC.

Why is when the Kelly trade was still up for grabs, every hour or so on trade radio, Barrett was saying Freo are right in the picture to get Kelly and he has options, yet even now, after Saints traded there best bargaining chip, no one in victorian media is saying that all or any other melbourne clubs should be in the mix.
Well I believe other clubs are starting to knock.

There's also chat that Col Young will incur a wrath on us by virtue of his powerful player stable, if it dont get dun.

Well Colin should be doing the best he can by his client this weekend by approaching every other vic club and asking

-are you interested?
-what can you trade?
-what contract can you offer?

Put all options on the table thereafter, If someone satisfies us, and Hill still gets a pay increase then theres no argument- unless of course it all about the 900k and the % the agent gets!!!!

For what its worth I wanna keep him.

Promises to be a veryi nteresting weekend!!!!
Stuff the Saints!!

I want to go shopping with Damien Barrett.

It would seem he thinks he can walk into a shop, tell the store keeper that their item should be sold to the customer for the price the customer wants to pay and any shop keeper who feels they have a right to set the price for their merchandise is engaged in complete chest puffery.

That must go down a treat out in the real world and he just picks up bargain after bargain after bargain.

I need a cheap swan river submersible thingy ... and all the schemes spoken about around here have produced me diddly squat.

I'm thinking we may get 10, 18 and Acres. Check out AFL site for how they get 10, something from Port in trade for Ryder and Howard.
