What a load of cobblers, trade radio is trying to claim, Hill is furious about the turn of events yesterday, and implying this fury is directed at us. Barrett even claimed that we had as much to do with St Kilda’s choice to swap picks as the Saints themselves.
Let’s be straight, the Saints did this deal, therefore making the acquisition of Hill less likely.
The Saints have approached Hill with a very lucrative offer to come over the top of our already generous five year deal. Is there any coincidence that Hill’s partner then develops a dose of home sickness.
We aren’t obligated to get this deal done. We haven’t made any promises to anybody. We haven’t had the conversations with multiple players to have them nominate us as their destination, while only holding a couple of picks.
If Hills leaving doesn’t support us in getting Jackson, Robertson and Henry. In short multiple first round picks this year, otherwise like Kelly last year, he stays.
I don’t care if others clubs find us difficult to deal with over our top end talent, good, go and find easier targets.
