He got 3/4's of a touch, Polly, that rebounded to a teammate. The analysis rounded down from 74.7% to 74% efficiency. Very efficient, the Champion Data analysist.

Acres was taken at pick 19 by SK in 2013. He just turned 24 years (Oct 7th), is 190 cm and 90 kgs. Has played principally as a wingman at SK. Averages about 18 disposals / game. Has pace is a good mark and good disposal. He has played in most of SK's games over the last 4 years. He's the sweetner in this deal. He's not a list clogger as some want to call him. Obviously he's not Brad Hill one on one but he's a good wingman. With the rest of the offer he's a good get in my view. I think he's as good as Langdon.

I am assuming the pick 58 we are supposed to also get is going to be used on Aish?

If so our trade period will look like this:
Out: Hill, Langdon, pick 26, future 4th round pick.
In: picks 10, 22 & 79, Acres & Aish, Melb & Saints future 2nd round picks.

In a year with a lot of WA talent available, this doesn’t look like a good return to me, I can only hope that we are targeting Jackson with pick 7 and if he goes before then we are going to flip 7 for a couple in the teens on draft night, otherwise we won’t be able to match a bid on Henry if it comes after pick 10.

Live trading of picks make matching the bid a bit easier. If a bid comes at 15 we won't need much more than our pick 22 and a pick around 50 (we get a 20% discount). But if we need a certain pick we can trade one of our future second round picks for something in this years draft I reckon. They is a few clubs that will need points for father son and academy picks next year. Next years draft is supposed to be the most compromised in history, so will be a few clubs willing to trade I imagine.

We can only hope a bid comes after the top 10. That’s the difference between 2 first round picks and 3 this year.

Is there any chance The Langdon Trade went something like this? :

We'll allow you to shaft us and give you Ed for basically bugger all, BUT, should you get pick 8 , dont you dare pick Liam Henry.

If he wasn’t an academy player would we still be going googy gaga over this Henry bloke?
I don’t know much about much but is he that good? Like Top 10 good or would you go one of the other WA boys first? Jackson for instance.

Oh and what the hell? Did we just start at a list of AFL players alphabetical order and work our way through until we got a hit?
Acres, Aish ....

Yeah, Henry is a gun. He is a top 10 player but being from WA and in our academy, most pundits have him in the early teens on draft boards.

He injured his knee straight after earning a spot in the U18 AA squad and has been on crutches since but should be right for the pre-season from my understanding. He is everything you want in a footballer, incredibly knowledgeable of the game with a fantastic understanding of how it unfolds and where to position himself. He has incredible speed and agility that helps him weave through traffic to both win the ball and break free. His skills are first class and probably the best in the draft.

He is a little small atm but will fill out with a couple of pre-seasons behind him. I wouldn't have too many worries about playing him against men from a forward pocket early and give him a very outside role. I'm sure Freo will look after him though and he probably won't play a large number of games unless we see some injuries ahead of him.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Now with GWS looking to trade up to pick 3 for presumably Jackson, do we let them know we are willing to use our pick seven or ten to take their academy kid? Will they then have the collateral to match for him?
Or are they only trying to guarantee access to him before Adelaide? I would’ve thought unlikely because they could simply match with 6.
If this is the case then the Saints have royally shafted us, and I would refuse to deal with them on principle.
Jackson was the player I was most excited about, and I can’t see any value in trading Hill in this instance.
I would be letting GWS know that we will be preparing to come hard with a big offer to Jackson in two years time that their salary cap won’t be able to cover.

Biz, how does he compare against bobby hill (who we should have taken instead of sturt, early call but at this stage is shaping up as another skinny victorian kid who maybe will want to go home after 2 or 3 yrs)
